Open appeal of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU) to the Prime Minister of Ukraine regarding the implementation of the project on the localization of electric locomotives in Ukraine.

PJSC PA Stalkanat-Silur plant, Odessa and several other metalware enterprises that have survived in Ukraine, among other types of products, produce the most seemingly low-visible material used in the production of electric locomotives – welding wire.
This is a rather delicate and very time consuming, energy-intensive type of wire, which Ukrainian metalware manufacturers’ produce from Ukrainian rolled metal products (wire rod). Which is, by the way, transported to us in those same wagons of “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
According to our estimates, several survived railcar building plants in Ukraine together consume about 2000 tons of thin welding wire per year! Just a few years ago the consumption of welding wire in Ukraine was 2-3 times higher! Please note that the welding wire in the hands of a professional Ukrainian welder is just one inconspicuous weld. Thin weld, which gathers together a huge metal structure of rolled products manufactured in Ukraine!
To this structure will be fixed Ukrainian wheel pairs, cable products, ropes, armchairs and hundreds more of Ukrainian hubs! Two thousand tons of inconspicuous welds are still made annually by our railcar builders! We can imagine how many workplaces are hidden behind this!
And for the last years we have already lost about 4000 tons of welding wire in a year.
